Description
This experimental Gas Cylinder was used at the Springfield Armory from June 1943 to approx. May 1945 to help tighten up the Gas Cylinder to the Barrel. It was done with the use of a Saw Cut through the Front Sight Base. For those of you you don't know about this successful experiment, Scott Duff talks about them extensively in his book on the WWII Garand. Two types of cuts are known, straight and diagonal. We are offering a Narrow Base Example with diagonal style cut. This cylinders have been USGI Gauged NEW!!. The original finish is at 85% plus and it comes with its original Stacking Swivel. Nice cylinder for the collector and the shooter who needs to tighten up that loose gas cylinder and get their Garand shooting accurately again. The one pictured is the one you will receive.
